Interesting squid fact #1: Squid are one of the few lifeforms on this planet that have copper based blood, unlike the rest of us iron based critters. They're also some of the coolest creatures I've had the delight of swimming with while diving. Watching them change shape and colour, plus their generally playful attitude, is a constant source of amazement and pleasure. Hence I was excited to find the squidblog, created by some other squid fanatics. [From Regine]
Lifehacker is a repository chock full of great tech facts and hints, kind of like engadget but with better DIY potential.
Core77 is a design blog full of interesting tidbits from various folks. One of my favourite contributers from there is Régine Debatty who has a very eccletic and interesting blogspace. [Thanks to Nicole, currently interning there, for the link]
This is a great concept - get random people to send in postcards with secrets on them as an art project. It's like a weird kind of voyeurism.
The globalrichlist [from Metafilter] shows you where your annual income puts you in terms of the world's population. A scary thought that even when you're earning minimum wage in somewhere like England or the US you're earning more than about 85% of everyone in the rest of the world does.
